Singer and talk-show host John Tesh has confirmed one of the reports in Kitty Kelley's new tell-all book about Oprha Winfrey. He says the two were romantically involved.
He tells ET.com, "Oprah and I were cub reporters in Nashville nearly 40 years ago and we dated for a short time.
We even talked about it during one of my appearances on her show. We remain friends to this day."
In her unauthorized Winfrey biography, "Oprah: A Biography," which will be released on Tuesday, Kelley details Winfrey's 1970s romance with the former "Entertainment Tonight" host.

The New York Daily News, which obtained the book, reports that a young Winfrey shared her Nashville apartment with Tesh until he bolted in the middle of the night.
According to Kelley, the "social pressure" on an interracial couple in Tennessee at that time proved too much for Tesh to handle.
