Eleven years ago Mansfield standup comedian, Mike Hanley, 43, turned in his microphone. He had recently married his wife, Beth, and was intent on starting his family.

Over the years the couple did just that, and produced three daughters, Jessica, 12, Isabelle, 10 and Jillian, 7.

For over a decade he focused on family, but during that time still had comedy on the brain. During solo car rides, he would bring along his tape recorder and record himself telling stories.

“I tell stories, not necessarily jokes,” Hanley said.

Through his storytelling he shares his life experiences as a husband and father.

“I tell people if you are married you will laugh at my stories, if you are single you will want to stay that way the rest of your life,” Hanley said.

A little over three years ago, Hanley was recording one of his stories.
